Today is Wisdom Wednesday.....where we share some of our dental wisdom with our readers.

If you have a dental emergency,  you should call our office at 281-815-4188 immediately.  I thought everyone knew that you can re-implant a tooth that has been knocked out and it will stay if done immediately, or almost immediately.  However....recently, one of our teenage patients had an accident and lost 2 of their 4 front teeth, and no one at the scene thought to try putting the teeth back into their place.  It made me realize how many people may not even know this is an option.

Dental emergencies and accidents are very scary because there is a lot of bleeding. Get a damp rag and apply pressure. Hurry and try to put the teeth back in their sockets. If they don't stick, you are back where you started.  If you can't possibly stomach putting the teeth back due to bleeding or damage to gums, drop the tooth (or teeth) in milk and rush to our office.

Trivia Tuesday

Today is Trivia Tuesday....where we share some important dental trivia with all of our readers.

 (1)  The average person only brushes their teeth for 45 to 70 seconds a day. 
        The recommended amount of time is 2-3 minutes.

 (2)   Next to the common cold, tooth decay remains the most prevalent disease in the U.S., even
         though a third of all children between the ages of 5 and 17 are cavity free.
