A toothache can be the worst medical condition anyone has to suffer through. Teeth hurt more than almost any other part of the body. If you or someone you love has a toothache, please call our office immediately. We'll work you in no matter how busy we are. It is important to get on antibiotics for an infection or to rebuild a broken tooth promptly. Like any other medical procedure, the sooner you are treated the better.

Wisdom Wednesday

Today is Wisdom Wednesday.....where we share some of our dental wisdom with our readers.

If you have a dental emergency,  you should call our office at 281-815-4188 immediately.  I thought everyone knew that you can re-implant a tooth that has been knocked out and it will stay if done immediately, or almost immediately.  However....recently, one of our teenage patients had an accident and lost 2 of their 4 front teeth, and no one at the scene thought to try putting the teeth back into their place.  It made me realize how many people may not even know this is an option.

Dental emergencies and accidents are very scary because there is a lot of bleeding. Get a damp rag and apply pressure. Hurry and try to put the teeth back in their sockets. If they don't stick, you are back where you started.  If you can't possibly stomach putting the teeth back due to bleeding or damage to gums, drop the tooth (or teeth) in milk and rush to our office.

Movie Monday

Today is Movie Monday.....where we share a funny or interesting dental video with our readers.  This one is a clip from a basketball game where a player, Chandler, gets his tooth knocked out accidentally.  Don't ever do what he does......he spits it out on the court!!  No chance to save that tooth now.  The announcer actually has the right information.  You should save that tooth!!  You either push it back into place and rush to the dentist, or put it in a cup of milk....and rush to the dentist.  We can often save a tooth that has been knocked out.....but not if you leave it on the basketball court!
