Can my headaches be caused by my teeth?

Some people who have recurrent headaches have been diagnosed as having TMJ. TMJ is an umbrella term covering acute or chronic inflammation of the temporomandibular joint, which connects the mandible to the skull. The disorder and resultant dysfunction can result in significant pain and impairment. Problems can result in jaw clicking, headaches, sinus problems and even loss of hearing.
A study headed by a researcher from the University at Buffalo's School of Dental Medicine showed that examiners could replicate tension-headache symptoms in 82 percent of subjects by performing the clinical examination of the temporalis muscle, which is involved in TMJ.
Diagnosis for TMJ requires an examination by a dentist or physician who has advanced training and expertise in the area of head and neck pain.
Come visit us if you have symptoms such as those listed in this article. You may be just an appointment away from being headache free.  Call our office at 281-242-0241 and see if we can help.

Welcome Dr. Patricia Menning !!

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Patricia Menning has joined the family at C & C Dental!
She has been with us since January of 2012, and many of you have had a chance to meet her.  We think Dr. Menning is a great addition to our staff.  She is an Aggie just like Dr. Cashion!  She  received an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, and her DDS from the University of Texas School of Dentistry.
Dr. Menning  knew she wanted to become a dentist at a very young age.  When she was 4 years old she jumped off the diving board backwards and lost her 2 front teeth!  Her dentist was kind enough to come to the office on a Saturday evening to see her.  Ever since then Patricia has wanted to be a dentist and provide that same great care to her patients.
When Dr. Menning is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, Craig, and their two “girls” Molly and Sophie, both poodles.  She also loves reading, traveling, and doing Yoga.
